I'm from Rio de Janeiro, where I graduated in graphic and product design at ESDI. I lived in London, working as a creative at many different agencies, from digital to above the line. Believe it or not, food was very good in England (sometimes too hard to find, though). Unfortunately the weather was miserable, and bus number 55 was always packed, so I moved to São Paulo. There, I was the content editor for Amarello magazine and head at Margarida Films creative department. Food was amazing (sometimes too overpriced), but little did I know that it was rainier than London, if that’s even possible. I’m now living in Buenos Aires, working as a creative at Madre, which just happened to be chosen agency of the year in Argentina. The weather is great here. They also have amazing steaks and dulce de leche, and taxi drivers like to talk about politics. By the way, here's some recent work we've done: I’m a partner at Queremos, a crowdfunding and refunding initiative to bring touring bands to Brazil, with my good friends Bruno, Felipe, Tiago, Pedro and Lucas. A lot of people have been talking about it. We've just won a prestigious award from O GLOBO newspaper, and gave a TED talk in Rio about social mobilization. We were also invited to join the Futures of Entertainment conferece at the M.I.T., and the Creativity World Forum in Belgium. We’re very, very excited and all our moms are really proud of us; some of our distant aunts even call them once in a while to ask how is it all coming along. You know how Brazilian families are really affectionate... In the past few years I’ve already been to space onboard a NASA jet airplane doing channel Idents for NatGeo, created a finger football office aficionado for HP during the World Cup, helped teenagers fight cancer along with Arsenal football players, and even tried to make sense of Sao Paulo’s traffic jams. I’ve won a Silver Lion at Cannes, a Gold at London International Awards, a Silver and a Bronze at Promax Awards, a bronze at El Sol, a nomination at D&AD, a merit at the Art Directors Club, a Gold at Apple Young Creatives Awards in Brazil, and a bunch of other acronyms you’ve never heard of. I'm a partner at Unchained, a guide to unique and amazing independent shops around the world with my gurus Dave and Lea. Oh yeah, and I'm also a partner at Catapapo, a random videochat social network in Brazil (a Chatroulette knock-off sounded too harsh to describe it) with Bruno and Gabriel. We've had more than 7 million hits in a bit more than a year, and we’re proud to say we have less cocks per click than all our competitors. A while back I created a collective called Samambaia with long time collaborators Juca and Claudinha. We've made films, clothes, websites, illustrations and photography, always exploring Brazil’s popular artistic expression. We were featured in a bunch of really nice magazines, shops all over Brazil and in London, international film festivals, art exhibitions and at São Paulo Fashion Week. I’m rarely bored. |
